W8 is a small item designed to take its place beside a settee (as a pedestal table) or bed (bedside table). W8 establishes a very successful graphic dialogue between the various materials used as well as the various shapes: a solid base in a rounded conical shape made from turned grey Tuscan stone, from which springs forth a slim black lacquered flat steel structure on which the upper top seems to levitate. The result is a highly graphic and useful object which is at once stable and light, very much present yet somehow transparent, which anchors itself discreetly in the visual space. Rounded conical base in turned gray Tuscan stone. Structure in satin black lacquered flat steel. Top in black lacquered sheet steel, folded onto a panel of multi-ply to avoid hollow metallic sounds during use.
